Education Exchange Graduation Ceremony: June 16, 2010
Published on: Jun 14, 2010
June 14, 2010 – South Kingstown, RI – The Education Exchange, a non-profit provider of adult education and job skills training programs throughout southern Rhode Island, will celebrate the achievements of its graduating class on June 16, 2010 at The Prout School in Wakefield.  The Graduation Ceremony will begin at 7:00PM and feature Mark Mainella as the keynote speaker.

Mr. Mainella has thirty years of experience as a human relations consultant and national lecturer.  He is known throughout Rhode Island and the country as a speaker with an extraordinary ability to connect with his audience, from high school students to experienced teachers.  His message of self-improvement – being the best one is capable of being - is a compelling one for the adults celebrating the attainment of their high school equivalency at the Education Exchange.  Earning a GED is a powerful first step in their efforts to be the best workers, parents, and members of the community that they can be.

At this year’s Graduation Ceremony, the Education Exchange will present the “Thomas H. Brillat Scholarship,” named for a former Director of the Education Exchange and awarded to a student who has demonstrated excellence in the classroom and in his/her GED scores.  The recipient must be accepted to post-secondary education for the Fall of 2010.

As the only GED testing site in southern Rhode Island, the Education Exchange provides testing services to individuals from throughout Washington County and beyond.  This year’s graduates represent towns from throughout southern Rhode Island, including: Bradford, Charlestown, Coventry, Exeter, Hope Valley, Hopkinton, Kingston, Narragansett, Newport, North Kingstown, Peace Dale, Richmond, Wakefield, Warwick, Westerly, West Warwick, West Greenwich, West Kingston, and Wyoming.
