New Term Begins in January for GED Prep, ESL, & Adult Ed

December 17, 2009 – Wakefield, RI – The Education Exchange, a non-profit provider of educational, workforce, and enrichment programs, will begin its Spring term in January 2010.  The term will begin with mandatory orientation/classes, starting on January 5, 2010 in Westerly and January 12, 2010 in Wakefield.  Upon completion of the orientation sessions, students will be placed in appropriate classes, based on their educational needs and schedules.

The programs being offered during the Education Exchange Spring term include: reading, writing, and math for the adult learner; English for Speakers of other Languages (ESL); standard and FasTrack GED preparation; GED testing; and Accuplacer preparation.  Classes will be held at locations in Wakefield, Westerly, and North Kingstown.  The Education Exchange Learning Lab will also be available during the day and evening in Wakefield.

The Education Exchange will also offer computer classes, job skills training opportunities, a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, and Microsoft certification programs during the term.  Students and members of the community are encouraged to explore all of the educational, workforce development, and cultural enrichment programs at the Education Exchange.
